The year 2020 has been quite a ride already, and this Mother’s Day will be a little bit different due to the restrictions that we’re all facing. Since it’s just around the corner, we want to share with you some ways you can celebrate your mum.
Here are some extra special ideas for you to enjoy! And remember, Mother’s Day doesn’t have to ONLY be celebrated this Sunday… celebrate mum all year round, it’s the thought that counts!
There’s nothing more heartfelt than a handmade gift. You could make mum something simple like a card with some special words or a poem. Make a “Grateful Jar” with little notes of all the things you’re grateful for in it. Another thing you could do is create a virtual photo album: you can use online photo album tools and apps or good old powerpoint for this.
Get baking, or try re-creating one of her favourite recipes! Don’t forget the classic breakfast in bed, it’s always a great way to celebrate mum. You could also do a themed dinner where you all dress up as if you’re going out to mum's favourite restaurant. Look up the recipes of the restaurant online and make them or if they have the option, order it to be delivered!
Do a little makeover for mum and make her feel beautiful. A manicure and pedicure at home, makeup and hair to match. Face masks and relaxing, you can find easy recipes online using ingredients like honey, oats and yogurt to make your own mask’s as well. Mum might also appreciate the peace and quiet so even just some alone time for her could be an option to keep in mind.
If she’s not in your bubble, or you live quite a distance away. You can video call her to chat and catch up. Get the whole family involved if you’re all in different lands and create a virtual party to celebrate mum. Go out with mum for a walk, part of the new routine a lot of us seem to be doing. You can also surprise her with some new activewear for those walks too!
Hope we’ve helped inspire some ideas! Wishing all the mums an awesome Mother’s Day this weekend.
